From the river mouth in a little boat
I paddled up on a hot sunny day
Aiming towards the mangrove forest afloat
I hastened as I went on my way
In the mangrove, there I will be
In quiet peace, while nature went on display
The water lowers its level as it ran to the sea
Her leaves shimmering in the wind
Dancing and singing so gracefully.
On a cue comes the mud creatures
Displaying their beautiful features
The Mudskippers flashed their dorsal fins While skipping through the mud
This little crab with an enlarged craw
A fiddler crab is what is called
He will wave it high to the stranger he adores Then comes the periwinkle and snails
Drawing tiny complex lines on the muddy bank Searching for food, carve a clear trail.
Heron quietly stands on one leg
Shaky and hopping a fish with will stray his way Here came the monkeys
Jumping from tree to tree
In a blink, all creatures went into hiding
Except for the crawlies who couldn’t flee
End up becoming a prey
Quietly stood while admiring nature
As the water slowly moves to fill its space
Goodbye, dear friends! I exclaimed in departure.
